Start times for the 2017 North Devon Junior Badminton Tournament are as follows:

 

OPEN EVENTS – SATURDAY 7TH JANUARY 2017

U12 events, please complete registration by 8.45am, matches to start at 9am

U14 events (including any combined U12/U14 events):   registration to be completed by 10am, matches to start from approx. 10.15am

U16 events (including any combined U14/U16 events):   registration to be completed by 12.15pm, matches to start from approx. 12.30pm.

U18 events (including any combined U16/U18 events):   registration to be completed by 2.45pm, matches to start from approx. 3pm.

 

RESTRICTED EVENTS – SUNDAY 8TH JANUARY 2017

U14 events (including any combined U12/U14 events):   registration by 10.15am, matches to start at 10.30am.

U16 & U18 events (including any combined U14/U16 combined event):   registration to be completed by 12.45pm, matches to start from approx. 1 pm.

Please note that all age groups and events will be played to completion before the start of other events.  Timings given are subject to change.

A little bit about the history of our tournament:

 

The North Devon Junior Tournament was established by Dennis Blackmore ten years ago.

 

The event was born when it was decided to have junior events in the North Devon League end of season tournament with entries in two age groups (U13 & U17) for both novice juniors and also for those who have played at league level or above.   Proving very successful, the tournament is now held over 2 days with singles and doubles for boys and girls in five age groups (U12, U14, U16 & U18) at both Restricted & Open levels.  Consequently the tournament now attracts players of all levels from both the local area and across the UK.

 

The tournament has mixed doubles, for the U14 & U18 age groups but open to all age groups.

Please be advised that start times for both the Open events on Saturday 7th January and the Restricted events on Sunday 8th January will be confirmed closer to the tournament date.

 

All competitors must be present at least 10 minutes before their start time & report to the Tournament ‘check-in’ table immediately on arrival, being prepared to play at all times.

 

In the event of withdrawal, REFUNDS may be claimed in accordance with the Conditions of Entry on the entry form.

 

If for any reason you are unable to travel on the day or are delayed, please contact the Tournament Secretary on the mobile number indicated on the entry form as it is essential that the Tournament Officials’ are advised without delay.

 

Please note that the tournament is NOT a BE ranking event.  BE gradings will be uploaded at the end of December 2016 to allow the tournament organisers to establish seedings in the events.

 

All Badminton England sanctioned events will be included in the grading system

Player gradings can be upgraded [promoted] or downgraded [relegated] based upon results in sanctioned tournaments
